The Lord your God is testing you to see if you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul ( Deuteronomy 13:3 - see also 8:2)
Historically, men have spoken their own funds, claiming to be spokesman of God
The Bible says that these men have the mark of the Beast (Rev. 19:20)
God lets them act however, to test us: will we follow?
Many fall into the traps of these pseudo-prophets there are many called but few are chosen (Mat 8:16 p.m. & 22:14)
Do not fall into the trap of believing that all are saved, as long as they have to mouth the name of God or Jesus, or they operate miracles (Matthew 7:22-23)
I've never known (Mat 7:23)
